Aloha visitors and welcome to our condo in paradise. They don't call Oahu's North Shore "The Country" for nothing. Come and witness what we consider the most beautiful spot in the world in Waialua, Hawaii. Located minutes from the historic Waialua Sugar Mill and a short bike ride from the famous surf mecca of Haleiwa. Waialua is a quiet bedroom community with beautiful beaches for swimming, snorkeling, turtle watching, and surfing backed by the Waianae mountain range and fronted by stunning Wai'alua Bay.

Our 1 bedroom and 1 bath condominium is located on the 4th floor of the Mokuleia Sands, with a ocean view from the lanai and a mountain view from the front door. The condo is located across the street from the beach and 130 steps from the beautiful Kaiaka Beach Park, perfect for picnics with restroom and showers for daily beach use convenience. The rooftop of the Sands offers perfect 360 degree views of the mountains, country, beach and ocean. A communal BBQ with tables and lounge chairs are available for evening sunset viewing adventures.

The condo itself offers a clear ocean view from the full length lanai, patio furniture, and all the amenities of home including a washer/dryer, dishwasher, full kitchen, coffee station, 37" flat screen with 70 channels, high speed wireless and wired Internet access (included), a phone for local use and messages, an iPod compatible stereo FM/AM iHome radio, and a wrap around couch that converts to a full size bed complete with a blow up mattress, pump, and linens provided. We have found that this is a much more comfortable option than the standard pull-out.

The beach across the street is a white/yellow sand beach used primarily by families in Waialua. This is not a crowded tourist beach but a relaxed, friendly gathering place for locals and visitors alike. The water is warm year-round and suitable for swimming and snorkeling by guests of any ability range. The swimming area is protected by a reef and remains placid in most conditions. A variety of colorful fish can be found close to shore and along the reef only 30-40 feet from the beach. Sea turtles frequent this beach and often swim in knee-deep water as they feed from the rocky bands that stretch across certain areas of the shoreline. Please observe all laws pertaining to interacting with turtles and other sea life as the temptation is great to have a "close encounter" in these favorable conditions.

There is also a left-hand surf break directly off of the beach park and steps away from the condo. This wave breaks primarily during the winter months when the North Shore produces the famous swells that bring professional surfers and exciting contest venues to the miles of surf breaks that make the North Shore of Oahu renowned among the water sports community worldwide.

The newly completed bike path stretches miles from Waialua to Haleiwa. While the small town of Waialua remains quiet in the evenings (a blessing in Hawaii), Haleiwa provides plenty of excitement with superb shopping, eclectic dining, and even some nightlife. Take the bikes for a 15 minute ride into town and enjoy dinner and dancing on the North Shore. Dress code is shorts, slaps, and an ahola print shirt or sun dress. Waialua and Haleiwa combine the best of both island worlds.
